A Sunday in Dublin.

yup, thats Bjorn Christiansen. I went to church in Dublin and he was sitting a few rows in front of me. I was completely shocked to run into him after two years in Dublin, of all places (Family and non-freshman years friends--Bjorn was one of our good guy friends from the dorms, we hung out with the same group of friends and he just got off his mission) At first i was a little nervous to go and talk to him but he got up and started to walk towards the back of the chapel (close to where i was sitting) so i called out his name and we chatted. He just got home two weeks ago and then went with his family on holiday to Ireland and then is off to England. After sacrament i was going to go to gospel doctrine with my friends but he came up to me and asked if i would go to gospel essentials with him. He must be in missionary mode still cause he was so much more mellow then pre-mish. He is not as rowdy and i was so amazed at all of his questions and comments. But im sure he will be the same Bjorn from freshman year once he gets into an apt with other freshman year boys. It was an exciting surprise to see him today.

Well to go back to what i did yesterday, we had the day to ourselves, which was much appreciated. We decided to go to Trinity College for a tour and to look at the Book of Kells (a required site for one of our classes) We walked to the college and got a tour by James, a student there that was hilarious and kinda asked me to marry him. We all thought he was super cute, but much to your disappointment matt, i did not kiss him! We went to the Book of Kells gallery and i wasnt that impressed. Then we went to the Long Room. The most impressive library-hall thing with thousands of thousands medieval books. I felt like i was in Harry Potter or something. We werent allowed to take pictures but i did anyways, it was just too beautiful to pass up. Then my friends Cathy and M'kynzi decided to go shopping!! I bought my first purchases in Ireland. We also came across two cute eating places--the bagel haven and the queen of tarts. amazing. the bagel haven was the best! best bagel sandwiches ever and pretty cheap. then off to the queen of tarts, a cute little place that serves scones, teas and the best desserts ever. after a great lunch, we had to go to mcdonalds for dinner! but they have curly fries so it was great. we had our first irish rain, which i didnt really enjoy. (picture of Ashley, Lillie, Kelsey, M'kynzi, me, Ashleigh, Cathy and April)

Back to sunday stuff, we had to take a bus to church today in the rain, so that was interesting to not be burning hot as i go to church on sundays. Church was great, the people were very welcoming. They had no idea we were coming, so it was quite a surprise. Relief Society had to be held in the sacrament meeting room since there was about 30 more girls there. After church me and four other girls (Cathy, M'kynzi, Lillie and Kelsey) decided to go back to the queen of tarts for lunch/dinner. (i know we broke the sabbath, but it was a little hard to plan a meal when we dont really have much stuff in our hostel). It was expensive, but worth it. It was a great find in Dublin. We already feel like we know this city even though we have only been here for a few days. Which makes us excited for moving to London and really knowing the City.

We leave tomorrow for London after our class at Trinity College. Its suppose to be long day of travel. I think our plans for Paris are off. It is really expensive, so we arent sure if we want to spend the money. Ive really gotten to become good friends with a couple of girls. I really like hanging out with them. The two girls that i have mentioned the most (Cathy and M'kynzi) are living with Lillie and I in Hyde Park together. Even though im blogging (ew i hate that word) doesnt give you guys excuses not to email me and let me know whats going on with you!!

This guy didnt want women to come to Trinity College. The other board members wanted women to come and he said "over my dead body". He died of a heart attack a week later. He was buried towards the back of the college. Once women were allowed they were only allowed to enter in the back entrance and the literally had to walk over this guys grave to enter the campus. Irony. We took this picture and discovered his name was Provost--just like our wonderful p-town.

How crazy to run into a friend. did you mean to say after "two years"? and, leigh - i don't know if you should be turning down marriage proposals at this point. who knows when another one will come. you gotta keep your options open. and did you get to pick then who you are living with in London?

I cannot believe you ran into Bjorn! Such a small world. And don't you worry, an email will be waiting for you in your inbox very soon. Its just that I have so much to write about that it is taking me a while to compile it.
Loves.

Leigh, I am so proud of you developing a new found interest in taking pictures, even illegal ones in musty old libraries, and in exploring interesting places that would have elicited shrieks boredom reminicent of our hours in the Louvre.

Dearest Leigh Ann, the previous post is actually from your dad, he commented from my site not realizing it would come up as Ann. Did you think I could ever by that clever!!

hey leigh leigh. liked chatting with you again. fun that you ran into a freshman year friend. he's cute. you should go out with him when you get back, although i think you should keep in touch with your tour guide who proposed. i'm in agreement with laura on the marriage proposals. i'm glad you're having fun and i'm assuming that the purchases you made in ireland were for me and the kids, if not, you're dead to me.

Well, I posted a witty and fantastic comment, and for some reason it did not post, so you all lose out.

Bottom line Leigh, if you don't snog an English bloak while you are in London (England/Ireland/Paris), you will let us all down (except your Dad). The Robins Anderson motto is "What happens in London, stays in London."
