As a refresher. Part one was this day.
However I think my Saturday night easily easily took over as the #1 best day.
I went to the Dodger game, which usually isnt a surprise, but this game I got to sit in the Dugout Club.
Now for you non Angelenos or Dodger fans, you might not know what that means.
They are the seats RIGHT behind home plate. You have access to the Dugout Restaurant and any food that the workers bring to you in your seat. And its all free! Technically its included in the $500 ticket price, however if you get an invite (like most people do) its free!
Not just anyone gets to sit here, and an opportunity doesnt come very often. So when I got invited by my new friend Lacey, I couldnt turn it down. {Thanks again Lacey!!}
It was awesome. To say the least.
I definitely hyperventilated walking up those stairs to the seats.
Dream come true right there.
My philosophy on the game/ eating at the game was to try and eat as much as possible without actually eating very much at all. Which translates into eating small portions of everything so that you can literally eat everything. I gave a disclaimer that I was going to eat a lot and had no shaming in gaining weight that night.
We started off in the restaurant and had steak, veggies, fruit and chips. then on to the dessert table.
candy apples at a game. no big deal!
i then ate half of that cheesecake right there.
then during the rest of the game:
a hot dog.
chicken strips and fries.
fro yo.
and I took a bag of jelly bellys from the cute little stand.
The best thing is just being so close to the field and the players. You can hearing them talking, the crack of the bat is so loud and you finally realize how huge some of these guys really are.
Now this was after Ethier hit his home run. View from my angle. Then the next day I found this gem of a photo. LOVE it.
I tried to spot some celebs but also wanted to pay attention to the game. Towards the end I found out that Paul Lo Duca was sitting directly behind me the WHOLE game. My heart still hurts on that one that I didnt realize. By the ninth inning I moved down to the second row.
Which sadly gave me front row seats to the worst loss in the ninth inning in like ever. Two steals home to give the Padres a go ahead run.
{Rudy showed me this vid. If you skip to minutes 2:00 and 2:38 you can see me in the left side freaking out over these steals. It really was awful. http://mlb.mlb.com/video/play.jsp?content_id=23044863&topic_id=&c_id=la&tcid=vpp_copy_23044863&v=3}
Luckily what happened next made up for it. My new homies, Art and Tony, told me that after the game when you exit you can wait outside the clubhouse for the players to leave the game. Sometimes you can get lucky and see some big stars walk out and they will stop for signings and pictures.
I knew this might be my only chance with these tickets. I wasnt gonna pass up this opportunity.
So I waited, however I was giving myself a 20 minute time limit.
I didnt want to sit there for an hour, who knows how long these guys take!
But before I knew it, out walks Dee Gordon, Juan Uribe, Ronnie Belasario, Clayton Kershaw and then....Matt Kemp.
I started snapping lots of pics. Then remembered that during the game, a Dodger employee brought us girls a bag of game balls. And I took one home. I dug through my huge bag, find the ball, asked the guy next to me for his pen, stuck out my arm and all of a sudden my hand is being touched by Matt Kemps.
I walked out of that stadium more happy than ever.
