4th of July in Dublin

Yesterday was a great day, we left the great day of DINGLE and took a short trip to the Irish Beach. It was beautiful. And i was surprised that the water wasnt that cold. yes, i actually touched the water with my feet. I, of course, took a rock and some sea shells from the beach to add to my collection at home. We then got back on the bus and drove a few hours to the Rock of Cashel. It was an old medieval church. It was really pretty and exciting after taking my medieval history class. My favorite part of that class was learning about cathedrals, and there i was standing in the nave of the chapel that had been standing there for centuries. Definitely exciting for a history nerd. Me and a couple other girls left the church and walked around the city of cashel. Then we drove to Kilkenny (there has been lots of driving going on, which means lots of sleeping.) Kilkenny is more on the east side of ireland. Its crazy that in a couple of days we have driven across the whole country of ireland. It was raining in Kilkenny when we got there, and we were super behind schedule so we mainly just stopped there to get dinner. We decided to get dinner in a PUB. And for my first time i got fish and chips. They have the best "chips" or french fries here! i loved it. Then we drove to our hostel. WOW. it was a CASTLE. no joke. it is an old castle converted into a hostel. We slept on the top floor. and in order to get to the top floor you have to walk up 60 steps on a very steep staircase. It was so hard to get up that we werent even allowed to bring our suitcases up. We talked to a girl that works there and the owners grand daughter and they took a few of us up to the roof. It was amazing. And then the they told us ghost stories and about how people have died there. It was interesting--the stories and the hostel. we were pretty scared. Today we got back on the bus (we have lived on the bus these few days) and drove to Glendalough, another old medieval ruin that housed monks. But it had beautiful scenery. We just walked around and took pictures. And then we finished our drive and ended up in DUBLIN. Thats where i am now. We arrived in our hostel and its actually really nice. We were very happy about it. Im finally getting to the point that im friends with most of the girls. Everyone is really fun. Here are some pics....

BEST PICTURE EVER!!! I LOVE LUBY!! This is at the Rock of Cashel. I was just walking around and saw this grave. i could not believe it. There is another Luby, besides the restuarant i saw in Texas where Lubes got her name. Luby R.I.P.

i'm glad mom realizes she's not as funny or clever as me and laura. and tell her thanks for commenting on my blog. anyhoo, it was fun chatting with you on facebook today. i'm glad you got your blog done in the meantime. who and what is luby? where have i been? i love that you got to hear ghost stories. i'm very jealous of that. and be prepared to climb lots of stairs in the near future. there are never any elevators. the london centre had like six stories and all stairs. and please appreciate all the irish accents you are experiencing. i am very jealous. have fun and keep posting.
