dland with the fam.

California. Disney. Family.
All of the above happened a few weeks ago.

Kelly and her kids decided to drive down to So Cal after a soccer tournament in St. George and obviously I couldnt be left out on all of the fun!
It's always so great to go back to California especially being with my whole family and all of the kids.
We played games in the park, ate The Habit outside and went to Disneyland.
Of course the weather was perfect leading up to our day at Disney. And then it was cold and rainy.
But we made the most of it until we got on Dumbo. My least favorite ride since like ever. Laura and I waited for an hour to get on this ride with the little girls and then right as we got on it started to rain a ton. The only silver lining was that Kate and Mia requested I ride with them.
However, this picture shows that I went by myself. Alas, I did not.
The rest of the day was really great.
{did Lyla just become my favorite!? What!? I did not just say that...}
I did have to leave Disneyland early to fly back to SLC. Which was pretty rough to leave the 2nd happiest place on earth and all of my family.
Luckily I went back a few weeks later...coming soon!

oh you fancy huh!?

This past week my DC roommate Jessica came to California for her first trip to Los Angeles.
I was thrilled to be reunited with my youtube addict, closet freak/ gangsta and fellow jerk dancing friend.
As we were planning out the festivities for the week, Jess mentioned she had an invite to attend
The Magic Castle.
I think I gasped in shock.
Then she told me I could go with her.
I think I almost fell off my chair.
The Magic Castle is a Hollywood icon. Nestled against the hills of Hollywood, its a legit castle that was built in 1909 where magicians preform legit magic. The only way to attend is to be a member of the castle (which requires hefty fees or you know...being a magician. nbd.) or getting an exclusive invite to attend.
Which doesnt happen easily.
Hence my pure joy and excitement when Jessica said we could go.
I was also super excited to invite one of my most favorite friends Heather to join us on this magical night. She was equally excited to attend.
The Magic Castle doesnt mess around.
You gotta dress up real fancy in order to attend.
and drop some big bucks.
You have to say "open sesame" to the bookcase pictured behind us for it to turn into the door.
I was hoping being decked out in pearls counted as being fancy.
This place tries to keep up their exclusivity so much that photos arent allowed inside. But of course that didnt stop me from snapping a few!
even the bathrooms were fancy.
Our night included:
A real fancy (and expensive) dinner.
attending the many magic shows and performances the castle has to offer.
I think my favorite was witnessing the magician's assistant getting cut in half right in front of my eyes. And the many card tricks and disappearing acts we witnessed were seriously mind boggling.
Like I said, this place doesnt mess around. And the magic was legit.
Thanks for the invite Jess!
It was a fun and magical night.
So happy that one of my biggest desires of attending the castle finally came true.
