well i didnt post on saturday cause the day wasnt that eventful so ill sum up yesterday and today. on saturday i decided to split from my usually group of friends and try and hang out with some other girls. it was fun, but i dont know if it was the greatest situation. they are nice girls but some of them arent that inviting, and since im always paranoid if people like me i was just kinda nervous the whole time while i was hanging out with them, and i wasnt comfortable as i would be with the girls that im use to. well the day didnt start out the greatest since the other girls took FOR-EV-ER to get ready. our motto here is that we didnt spend thousands of dollars to sit in our flat all day, and we got over to the other girls flat at 11am and they werent even close to getting ready. so we sat around waiting until noon! i was so frustrated. it is just ridiculous to me that they are incompetent to get ready at a decent time. so we eventually left and took the tube to leicester square. it has a bunch of restaurants and four movie theaters where they have movie premieres. so we walked around a bit and had some lunch. but i got some not so good asian food, its always annoying to buy food that ends up not being very good since we have to spend so much money for it. but we only went to leicester square because my friend rachel was meeting up with her best friend from when she lived in spain that she hasnt seen in 5 years. so after
rachel left us to meet with her friend the rest of us (christine, beth, hannah, hillary) left to go to the Camden Market. it is this huge outdoor market that has tons and TONS of shops. and it also has the weirdist people there. it was just like a bizarre crowd over there. but it was a huge place, around every corner there was more shops to go see. and it looked like there was amazing food! i was so bummed that we already ate crap asian food. so at the market i bought a really cute necklace that looks like a clock locket. im excited to wear it. we were there for a few hours and then decided to go back home and regroup. which was good cause i was SO tired. so i got back to the flat and was alone. i was kinda sad about it. but like 20 mins later my roomies came home so i was excited. we all kinda did different things and i told them that i had missed hanging out with them that day! which i really did. for the past few days i thought i was getting sick of them but then when i wasnt with them i realized i like hanging out with them more than other girls. we all decided that we were super tired and didnt want to go out for the night. lillie and i did go do our laundry which we thought would be such a burden cause we heard that you had to wait forever, but we didnt have to wait at all. and the best part of the story is that we stole the dryer from some girl. there was like 10 mins and 40 mins on each dryer and we didnt want to wait for it, especially when we realized that the clothes inside of it were dry. so we took out the chicks laundry and put in ours and then that way we didnt have to pay for the dryer!! but the story gets better...we ran into the girl afterwards and it was awkward. the rest of the night we hung out in our flat and just did random stuff, told good stories, tried to get stories out of M'kynzi and then watched cathy make weird faces and dance like a monkey. so even though i said we like to get out of our flat, it was also nice to stay in after being super busy all the time. so today was our first sunday in our assigned wards. we all noticed that it has felt like ages since we went to church in dublin. like when i think about church and seeing bjorn it seems like months ago! since we have done so much this week it feels like sunday was forever ago. but
today we traveled out to lea valley for our ward. which by the way laura i think its so cool that we both went to this ward! to get to the ward we have to travel for about in hour, and its outside of our zones for our tube cards, so we have to pay an extra 2 pounds to get there, it kinda stinks. the girl that took forever to get ready yesterday took forever to get ready again today! it was so frustrating! i just hate being late, especially to church. i probably get that from dad who got that from his dad. im just paranoid about that kinda stuff. but luckily we made it right not time. but as we were on the underground i noticed these young black girls that were dressed in skirts and heels, so i kinda had a thought that they might be going to church too, but i wasnt completely sure, and i didnt want to assume that just because they had skirts on. we got off the tube and started to walk to church and a young guy came up to us and asked us if we were going to church. we were very excited to run into him cause we werent exactly sure if we were going the right way. we asked him if we looked american and mormon and he said mormon. so we got to church and those two young girls from the tube were standing at the door ready to great us. it was so cute. they looked very excited to see us. i guess they could tell we were mormon as well. the ward is predominantly black, and originally from africa too. so we had the hardest time understanding them during church becuase they have an african accent and then a british accent on top of that. so we had to concentrate super hard to understand them, but still it was very difficult. it was such an interesting experience being at the ward since most of the members are converts and are from a different country. its just so different since im only use to the GH ward, singles wards, and my Lanai ward. so im excited to be in this ward and have this experience. i will most likely be helping in primary or in young womens, which either way would be great. hopefully it will get easier to understand them. the other interesting thing about church was the had 4 speakers, two were just bearing their testimonies and two speaking. a missionary was asked to bear his
testimony and i was so surprised when he started talking because he didnt speak very good english. he is originally from mongolia and has only been in england for two weeks. it was so cute watching him speak in english as he was so nervous. i realized that i have never witnessed that before. i have always been on the opposite end where i have seen friends leave for foreign missions speaking spanish, portuguese etc. i have never thought of a missionary being called to speak english that didnt know how to before. all just kinda different things that i have never thought of. the church building is also super small i couldnt believe it. they have a YSA sunday school class that meets in the library, but the library is like not even a room at all its so tiny! me and and another girl mandy decided not to go to it because we wouldnt all be able to fit in there.

the first two pictures are from saturday at Camden Market, they other ones are just random ones from lately that i havent put up yet that i thought you guys would enjoy.

ok, #1 - why do you worry about people not liking you? that is silly. you are cool and fun and people should want to hang out with you. #2 - hang out with people you have fun with - not people you think look cool and maybe they are having more fun then you, because they probably are not. do you know what i am trying to say? i know how you feel.
i love that you are going to that ward. i remember we had to buy that extended pass to go to church and it felt weird to spend money on sunday - but most weeks they left the gate open at the station where we got off so we didn't even bother buying the extra tickets (which is probably worse than spending money on Sunday).
Thanks for the post! love ya!
i love camden market. that's where i bought skirts for me and laura from the "skirt lady," some crazy hippie lady. i also bought a recycled paper journal there. i ditto laura on the friend thing, but i will admit, when i was in london, i tried to do different things with different people, but since people are by nature cliquey, i almost felt left out at the end because by trying to be friends with everyone, i didn't have a "group." so be yourself, have fun and don't stress. and your church experience sounds neat. i'm glad you're there. you're going to come back a different person. so don't regress
