i think its fly when girls stop by for the summer.

I made a good group of new friends during the summer, as they were all heading back to Provo for school they were all super sad that their summer was over, saying they had the best summer ever. 

It made me reflect back on my own summer.

Also my sister Laura recently did a little summer recap post, which inspired me to do one of my own.... 

My summer started with the unexpected move back to sunny California. 

When this year started I told myself that it was the first time that I didnt have a set plan in my life.
 However I had one plan.
 I was going to live in Provo till the end of summer and then move somewhere else. That "somewhere else" was never ever going to be back at home...

My summer involved heartbreak. And Im still kinda dealing with it. 

However, my summer then involved making new and awesome friends which have been such a blessing to me. 

My summer involved two family vacations. Well the first involved Kelly coming here, but since I didnt work and we hung out everyday it felt like a vaca. 

And then a great trip up the coast to San Fran. 

My summer was lots of Dodger games. I tried to go as much as I could. My count is at 12 games thus far, with three more games in the works before the season is over. I have collected a dodger beach towel, dodger lunch pack and hopefully receive a dodger towel next week! 

My summer was filled with learning about apartment leasing. And although I am so so grateful for Matt with hooking me up with a well paying job as soon as I got home that was super flexible I realized I dont like working with adults in such a professional setting. They dont appreciate my big hoop earrings like my DC students, I cant get away with saying words like "aint" and they could care less if I can attempt to Jerk. 

My summer involved hanging out with my niece and nephew (and sister for that matter) all the time. And I absolutely love it.

I love the excitement Chase has every time I see him, even if I did see him the previous day. Although it has made me miss seeing the Larson kids all the time too!

My summer was Sunday night dinners out on the patio, which were and are my all time favorite thing to do. And playing Mexican Train at night. 

My summer was trips with friends.

My summer was going to the beach a lot. Although I only once got in the water. And that was only up to my waist. I know, Im pathetic. 

And lastly my summer ended with a new job! I am working for a lady in my stake. Its an awesome opportunity that just fell into my lap. Im a tutor/ political campaigner/ personal assistant and so far I love it! Im working for an organization called the Kitchen Cabinet. Its flexible, fun and Im learning a lot! My dreams that past few nights have all involved Republicans and Democrats. I have loved becoming more informed about the political world (so make sure you all go out and vote this election!). I feel required to start spreading the word for the company that I work for. So check out the website!!

I guess after writing all of this, it has been great.
But its just so hard to compete with Desperate Housewives everyday and 7 Peaks while being the Queen of Lanai.
 But maybe this takes a close second.

in other news LFO lead frontman Rich died over the weekend. Im seriously heartbroken over it. They were the greatest one hit wonder and he was so good looking.

Throughout my life I have truly been blessed with great friends.

I was blessed with three amazing girls my very first day of college. These were my college roommates.
My very best friends. My life long friends.

And then I have my Lanai Crew.

An amazing group of friends that ruled Lanai for years and fine dined our way through Provo.

And although separated by distance there is a constant effort for Lanai reunions.

But my longest lasting friendship is with the GH Kids.

Our group grew up together in the ward.

We may not have all liked each other in the middle school years, but once we hit high school the GH kids went to the beach, partied at church dances, gossiped in the hot tub, watched way too many movies together and played outlandish games allowing anonymous smack talk about each other.

Starting six years ago, the first GH boy left on his mission to England.

I was nervous that night that our group was never gonna be the same.

Years later, a few have gone on and gotten married but luckily the majority are still single.

But this past week the last two boys came home from their missions.

A great reunion ensued. 

My mom always said that the reason why I took so long to come down and join our family is because I wasnt ready to leave the GH kids up in heaven.
 And I think I agree.
I was so happy for the next little bit we are all back together.
Cant wait for the partying to continue.

we'll be young forever

Ive been up to lots of fun things lately here in Los Angeles.

Ive discovered and fallen in love with the food trucks that cruise around town.

These are trucks that specialize in a specific food--french fries, tacos, pancakes, brazilian, sushi--and they move location everyday. You gotta look up online to see where you gotta go. Its pretty fun and the latest craze in LA.

Last week with Laura, Matt and the kids we got in the car to go to Hollywood to eat at the grilled cheese truck. A grilled cheese truck! Ingenious! They even serve tomato soup and a nutella dessert sandwich. It was so awesome and now Im hooked.

  Last week I went to the Downtown LA Art Walk. 

I snapped this photo after I pulled into Downtown.

Although I think Downtown LA is super sketch, and its not like I ever hang out there, but I do absolutely love the city skyline. Its seriously my favorite.  

I felt so not indie enough to be at the Art Walk but it was super legit and as well as super sketch.

We luckily didnt go into very many galleries but there were tons of people crowding the streets that it was a lot more entertaining to people watch. 

There was also A TON of food trucks. 

I was so happy.

We decided on an Indian Food truck called India Jones. So clever and so good.

Also in the week I watched the meteor shower, went to a freaking awesome dance party and the beach.

As I went and did all these things I kept thinking to myself....

I am so glad I am single. And not married. HA. 

As I have thought about this for the past week or so, hear me out.

Thats right, Im calling you out Provo.

I am so glad I am out of there. So i dont have to feel OLD for being single and 23. 

I could not be happier living the single life and doing whatever I please.

Cause I know at some point (knock on wood) I will get married. And I will have the rest of my life to have a husband and be a mom.

But for now...

I love hanging out with a ton of new friends, and different friends every night.

I love going to dance parties with said awesome friends and getting down 

and a little fresh with poles and some boys.

I like hanging out with boys.

And I like kissing as many boys as I can. 

So take that Provo, you little manipulative place, for making me feel bad some times, I am in my prime, Im so happy and so freaking grateful I dont have to cook dinner for a man just yet.

Let me state the obvious. My family likes baseball.

So last year when we decided that we wanted to go to every Major League Baseball stadium in the country, we were not joking.

About two months ago Laura and Matt discovered that the Dodgers would be playing the Giants in San Fran at the end of July.

And just like that. DONE. The Anderson's decided they were gonna go and the Robins decided to tag along.

We then decided to make a little family vacation out of it by driving up the California Coast.

With great success we had a fabulous trip!

For not planning all that much, we had a great drive, beautiful scenery, had the best luck finding amazing places to eat and I had the best time snapping as many photos as I could.

We hit the road on Wednesday with our first destination of Santa Barbara. We went to Sambo's for breakfast. (awesome food stop #1) Havent been to SB in a long time, really pretty and definitely wished I went to UCSB.

Our next stop: Pismo Beach.

Really cute beach town. We took a stroll down the beach and collected tons of shells along the way.

We came across these amazing rocks and cliffs, that easily became our favorite part about Pismo. We loved exploring the rocks and taking pictures. Because of Chase we felt like we came across our own personal Neverland. (if you havent heard, my nephew legitimately thinks he is Peter Pan)

The next day we hit the road driving up the Pacific Coast Highway to get to Monterey. I absolutely loved driving up the coast. everyone NEEDS to do it! For living in California basically my whole life, it was amazing seeing it in such a different perspective with the amazing coast and huge cliffs.

We got to Monterey and loved it. Ate THE BEST rasberry, coconut and granola pancakes I have ever had in my entire life. I am obsessed. I want them all the time. Best highlight of being in Monterey. We walked Cannery Row and enjoyed the beautiful views of the coast. The water looked a little different then what we see here in LA.

That night we got on the road again to drive to San Francisco.

Now Saturday, GAME DAY. and you know my whole fam was decked out in their Dodger gear walking around the city. Absolutely loved that.

At&T Park is a really beautiful stadium that is a throw back, trying to reminisce of early ballparks.

The atmosphere was intense, heard lots of Beat LA chants, the crowd was rough as well as the loss. When Martin struck out, to end the game, I have never heard cheers from the crowd so loud in my entire life. At one point during the game I couldnt believe that we actually paid money to put ourself in that situation. It was rough!! Although I hate the Giants so freaking much, it was awesome to be in there with such heated debate and jeers from the fans.

But let me mention, Giant Dogs, not as good as Dodger Dogs.

But going to the stadium was great, loved experiencing it and now we get to check it off the list.

Now a big highlight of the trip. I got to meet up with Chanel in the city for dinner! Absolutely loved it and we talked seriously NON STOP. we could not stop chatting.

i miss her like woah.

After that we got on the road for the long drive home. Had some detours and really struggled coming up with conversation with my parents for the whole drive home. HA just kidding.

great drive, great food, great stadium, great trip.

although I do not appreciate the cold in July or the non stop wind in the city.
